The biggest complaint I get from my tribe of yoga Goddesses is that they have too much stress in their lives. I get it! I’m a busy mom with two businesses plus taking care of my house and trying to make healthy meals on top of it all.

It can be a lot – but, there ARE things you can do to help bring some balance back into your life.

Some of my favorite ways are:

 

Stress can lead to major issues if you don’t manage it. Some ways it can manifest may include:

  • Digestive issues
  • High blood pressure
  • Heart palpitations
  • Anxiety attacks
  • Aches and pains
  • Loss of passion for life
  • Lowered sex drive
  • Depression

 

On top of these symptoms, you could end up with serious illness, burnout, or exhaustion. This is why it’s so important to find ways to release stress. You should definitely start with letting go of things you don’t HAVE to deal with in your life. That’s the easiest way. But there are some things you just can’t get away from.

This is where self-care practices come in. I hear excuses around this all the time, that women don’t have time. I want you to get honest and tough with yourself for a minute though. Think about the answers to these questions or, better yet, journal about them to really start to get to the bottom of it.

Journaling Questions

  • If you don’t do anything about your stress levels now, what will your life look like in 6 months? In 2 years?
  • What’s the worst-case scenario if you don’t deal with it?
  • What can you let go of to make way for just ten minutes of self-care a day?
  • How will your life look different if you DO start taking care of yourself now?
  • What is stopping you?
  • Are there some fears around making the time for you?
  • Are you worth it? Why or why not?

 

When we take time to just BE and fully relax, without being stimulated by T.V. or our phones, we allow our body time to heal on all levels. You have to get into the parasympathetic state. Face it, you know you always feel like you’re in fight or flight mode now. Your body and mind have absolutely no chance of NOT burning out or getting massively overwhelmed when constantly in this state.

We have to make a stand and realize that we aren’t bad wives or moms or WOMEN if we don’t put everything we can possibly handle onto our plate. That time is over. Yes, I do truly believe we can have it all but we can have it all through a state of allowing which comes from relaxation – not from a state of pushing. That’s the old paradigm. It’s the masculine energy that’s in charge there. You know deep down it’s time to do something different, to step into the feminine. This is when massive shifts will start to happen in your life.

 

It’s all up to you. YOU have to make the commitment. YOU have to make the decision. No one is going to do it for you.

 

Start today by journaling, breathing deeply, or doing some gentle yoga. It doesn’t have to be complicated and you don’t have to stress if it’s “right” or “wrong”. If it feels good, if it feels healing and nourishing, you’re on the right track. Listen to your Intuition and learn to trust yourself momma!
