Do you get inspired or feelings of envy when you see pictures of yogis in seemingly effortless handstands? Well, it’s time to get inspired if that wasn’t your choice!
Handstands take a WHILE to perfect. I mean, it took me about a year to have any sort of control and I’m still getting better every day. I began practicing my handstand almost daily about 2 1/2 years ago. Now I don’t practice it quite as often but at least a few times a week to keep my “chops” up, as my drummer husband would say.
So take comfort in the fact that even though yogis can make poses look easy in pictures, chances are that it wasn’t so pretty getting there. I am excited to share with you the techniques that have propelled my handstand to a whole new level.
Continue to get stronger in your handstand by committing to core work at least 4 times a week. Practice boat and especially half-boat as well as plank and forearm plank. Practice your handstand as often as possible, wherever you see a free wall and a clear space! 2 minutes here and there truly do add up!
From my mat to yours,
